This event brings the community together to provide Christmas trees for families in need and helps financially support Fraser, Ltd.

🧤 The Art of Humanity Glove Drive – This holiday season, donate new adult warm gloves to support homeless youth and young adults. Donations can be dropped off at The Art of Humanity Tree during our festival or at Fraser, Ltd. (2902 South University Drive, Fargo).

Hillsboro, ND – November 3rd, 2025

The Traill County Arts Coalition will exhibit the work of the late Hillsboro artist John Carroll Pederson (1928-2025) November 13th- December 13th at “The Arts House” in Hillsboro, ND. The exhibit will feature a selection of Pederson’s work that will be for sale through silent auction during the exhibit. Proceeds from the auction will go towards an arts scholarship in John’s name.

John Carroll Pederson (1928-2025), a self-taught artist from Hillsboro, North Dakota, was a man whose life revolved around his passions for drawing and painting. From a young age, he was deeply inspired by the "homespun American life" depicted on Norman Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post covers. This admiration led to a defining moment in his life: a pilgrimage to Rockwell's home in Massachusetts, where he was welcomed as a guest and learned from the famous artist. John considered this week a high point of his life.

John's career was a tapestry of artistic pursuits. After serving in the Army, where he did some illustration work, he spent 15 years at Dakota Photo Engraving Co. in Fargo. He also applied his artistic skills to commercial work, painting billboard signs along I-29 and creating logos and nameplates for local newspapers. Around 1971, he began making a living as a full-time painter and taught adult education classes in Hillsboro. His fine art subjects were diverse, ranging from Abraham Lincoln and old comedians to airplanes and local Red River Valley landscapes.

🎄 Step into a world of winter magic at the Red River Zoo’s Santa’s Snowfari! Santa will be visiting from 11a-2p just for you on two very special Saturdays in December! Bring your family and friends for a cozy, festive celebration full of fun activities, warm treats, and our amazing animals.

Red River Zoo members receive FREE admission. Santa Snowfari is a special event series and we will not be honoring membership reciprocity with other Zoos and Aquariums during the event.

For all others, adults are only $14.95, and children ages 2 to 14 are only $12.95. Children under 2 are free.

Folkways invites you to celebrate the holiday season at Christkindlmarkt! Join us for TWO WEEKENDS of festive cheer in the Outdoor Winter Wonderland, Gift Market, and Bier Hall with Drekker Brewing Company.

With food, live musical performances, art demonstrations, holiday treats, and activities for the kids, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

The Timeless Traditions Workshop is a hands-on, one hour program held once a month, designed for children and beginner adults eager to explore the practical skills of the 19th-century frontier. Each session introduces a new skill, such as embroidery, quilting, butter-making, leatherworking, drop spindling, 3 Sisters gardening, soapstone carving/whittling (child safe version), dried herb caches, basket weaving, flint knapping, Tipi set up, ink making, paper making/journaling, rag rugs, tin lanterns, Mandan pottery, etc. Participants will learn the history behind the craft, observe a demonstration, and complete a small project using provided supplies.

Get ready for a night under the stars! Join us on December 6 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM for an evening of astronomy and exploration, exclusively for adults 18 and older.

From 7:00–7:45 PM, Damon Williams will guide you through the wonders of astronomy before heading outside to take in the night sky.

Telescopes will be available for viewing, and the gallery will stay open for a relaxed, adults-only experience throughout the evening.

Join us for Lego Fun Day at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead! Kids will explore Lego stations with everything from towering creations to zippy vehicles.
Parents can connect with other families and meet leaders from our Cub Scout pack, open to all kids in grades K-5. Cub Scouts help kids try new things, make friends, and build confidence through fun activities like camping, racing cars, and service projects.
